Role overview

The Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the complete rice milling operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of rice processing, and the ability to manage teams, production schedules, and maintenance operations.

Job description

  • Oversee daily operations of the rice mill/factory to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff and workers across all departments.
  • Ensure proper functioning, maintenance, and servicing of all machinery and equipment.
  • Monitor production targets, enforce quality control standards, and manage inventory levels effectively.
  • Oversee the complete rice processing cycle, including drying, milling, polishing, packaging, and storage.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Handle procurement of raw paddy and manage logistics and the overall supply chain.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production, manpower utilization, and inventory status.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements for higher productivity.
  • Train, motivate, and evaluate employees to enhance performance and maintain a productive work environment.
  • Liaise with senior management and provide regular updates on factory operations and key performance indicators.
  • Qualification and experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a managerial position within a rice mill or agro-processing factory.
  • In-depth knowledge of rice milling operations, machinery, and quality control procedures.
  • Strong leadership qualities with proven team management capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
