Role overview

The Head of Export and Cross-Border Business will lead and manage the company’s export operations, with a primary focus on the Gulf countries. The role requires a seasoned professional who preferably lived and worked in the Gulf region and has hands-on experience in exporting goods to those markets. This role encompasses overall strategic planning, regulatory compliance, documentation, and end-to-end coordination to ensure timely and cost-effective export of Bangladeshi products.

Job description

  • Lead and oversee the company’s export functions with a specific focus on Gulf countries.
  • Take full ownership of the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, driving revenue generation and cost efficiency.
  • Develop and execute market entry and expansion strategies tailored to Gulf countries’ regulatory and commercial environments.
  • Ensure alignment of demand and supply to meet sales and operational targets.
  • Identify, onboard, and manage relationships with regional distributors and partners.
  • Maintain overall control and supervision of all export-related activities across company operations.
  • Ensure accurate consumption registration and inventory tracking of export materials.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives in logistics and customs clearance processes.
  • Liaise with international regulatory bodies, trade offices, and governmental agencies to ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualification and experience

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in export operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Experience of working in Gulf countries will be an advantage.
  • Proven experience managing export business in Gulf countries; residence or long-term work experience in the region is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Gulf market dynamics, trade regulations, and customs procedures.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in from a reputed university.
  • MBA or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.
