Role overview

This role is responsible for owning the P&L and acquiring manufacturers or anchor clients for a new business vertical. The incumbent will lead strategic sales initiatives, develop new revenue streams, and drive business expansion. The position requires close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, strategic planning, and executional excellence to grow the business from the ground up.

Job description

  • Own the full P&L responsibility for the new business line, driving revenue and managing costs.
  • Acquire and onboard key manufacturers or anchor partners critical to business launch and growth.
  • Define and execute the go-to-market strategy and overall sales plan for the new venture.
  • Build, lead, and manage a high-performing team to support aggressive growth targets.
  • Lead planning and forecasting efforts, delivering regular KPI reporting to leadership.
  • Personally close high-value deals and serve as a key evangelist for the product.
  • Build and scale the pipeline through top-down outreach, onboarding, and activation of leads.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and Engineering to ensure cohesive execution.
  • Maintain full visibility into the sales pipeline and ensure consistent reporting and analysis.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key external stakeholders.
  • Embrace a frugal, resourceful approach to growth, focusing on efficiency and high ROI initiatives.
  • Operate with a strong 0-1 mindset, driving the venture from conceptualization to full market activation.
  • Continuously assess market trends and customer needs to refine business strategy.

Qualification and experience

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in sales or business development, including direct P&L ownership.
  • Proven track record in acquiring and managing B2B relationships, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain-based industries.
  • Experience leading and coaching SDR and AE teams, consistently exceeding sales targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans based on data-driven insights.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership, with experience influencing teams across departments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and deadlines.

Additional information

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • MBA preferred.
