Role overview

We are hiring a skilled and target-driven Territory Sales Manager (TSM) to lead the rice sales operation in designated areas. The TSM will be responsible for achieving sales targets, expanding the retail network, supervising the field team, and building long-term trade relationships.

Job description

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales targets for the assigned territory.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and retailers.
  • Conduct regular market visits to ensure product availability, visibility, and proper merchandising.
  • Implement trade promotions and schemes in alignment with company strategy.
  • Identify new market opportunities and potential distribution channels.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on competitor activities and market intelligence.
  • Ensure timely payment collections and resolve any market-related issues or conflicts.
  • Submit regular sales reports, route plans, and performance updates to senior management.

Qualification and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in field sales, preferably in rice or agro-based product categories.
  • Proven experience in managing dealers, distributors, and field sales teams.
  • Strong knowledge of the local market dynamics and distribution networks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and team management skills.
  • Target-driven and self-motivated, with a proactive sales approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure and travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, sales reporting, and route planning.
  • Familiarity with rural and semi-urban retail markets is an added advantage.
